The island is primarily known as a cycling walhalla, but what about running? Trailrunning? Or is it more about hiking and roadrunning? LET'S FIND OUT SHALL WE.

First things first: fue amor a primera vista! Coup de foudre! Love at first sight! So this whole article is 100% super subjective. This isn't proper objective journalism, sorry folks...
Mallorca, the island in brief: Palma is its capital. An old city full of charm. Big enough to fit in a couple of Zara's. Intimate enough to wander around and discover genuine local stuff.
Hence, my first stop: a candy store for the outdoor lover, especially on a bike.

"Cycling first, the outdoors above everything. Whether in the north wind or on the south shore, the short burst or the adventure of a lifetime. Finding limits pushing boundaries occasionally pulling back from the brink.
We're about all the roads less ridden, the places less seen and the scenes less written. Sharing memories that linger long after the day is done. And leaving it all behind us just as it was when we found it."
LOCATION: Plaça del Rosarà / 07001Palma
Ok, back to the running part. Where to go?
Don't be fooled. Mallorca is big. And the diversity in terrain is huge. Down south, you can enjoy easy breezy beach runs, traversing small villages, or running through scenic agricultural landscapes. ...

LOCATIONS: Calla Lombards, Salinas, Colonia de Sant Jordi, Santanyi
As a trailrunner, don't consider this part of the island as a running hotspot. See it as fun, perfect for long distance training, getting used to some incline, ...
But then, there's 'the north'- OOOOH YEAH - with its breathtaking views... The climbs can take you +3000ft in no time. Overlooking the ocean in front, scenic landscapes in the back. THIS IS IT, THIS IS WHAT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR.
Feeling it? Then stay tuned for 'Mallorca Running - Pt. 2: what's up north?'
